Back to High School...

Friday night was I was still trying to recover from a crazy busy week while thanking my lucky stars FNL was cancelled. As much as I love serving beer on Fridays to my FNL regulars I definitely needed a night off. So it started, eating leftovers on the couch while watching TLC's What Not to Wear. Good times to be had by all. My sister and her boyfriend Chris got home from dinner and we were about to settle into a Mario Kart competition when Courtney said she was coming over...things were only about to begin.

We got it in our crazy heads that we wanted to drive to "Bunny Man Bridge" in Clifton. What?!?! Who does that? For those that don't know the story goes...

Once upon a time (1908) there was an insane asylum located in Clifton, VA. The residents complained and the patients were loaded up to be moved down south. On the way out the bus crashed on this bridge and all the patients escaped. They were able to round up all the patients except one, which they never found. The bridge became known as Bunny Man Bridge because authorities kept finding dead bunnies all over the woods around the bridge. There are more stories that talk about murders and people dressed up in bunny costumes but you get the idea....

So off we went. We stopped for gas first (so the car wouldn't die going under the bridge) and then we got beer (so we had some for after). We drove about 7 miles out to the middle of NO WHERE, VA. Once you drove past the houses (that were gorgeous) the road narrows to one lane, the houses disappear and it is pitch black outside. Scar-ry. We drove under the bridge without incident but man, it was creeeeepy. Definitely something I won't be doing again any time soon.

After that excitement - we went back to my house to play Nintendo and drink beer. After a while we got the late night munchies and found ourselves at good old Silver Diner for cheese fries. Yum. The whole night was a flash back to high school!
